English: Seabees assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 11 commemorate the Battle of Midway on its 70th anniversary and bow their heads in reverence as the chaplain, Lt. j.g. Brian E. Myers, from New London, Ohio, says a prayer in honor of those sailors who fought in the Battle of Midway which took place, June 4-7, 1942, and is regarded as a critical turning point in the Pacific during World War II. Homeported in Gulfport, Miss., NMCB-11 is deployed to Afghanistan to conduct general, mobility, survivability engineering operations, defensive operations, Afghan National Army partnering and detachment of units in combined/joint operations area - Afghanistan in order to enable the neutralization of the insurgency and support improved governance and stability operations.
