English: National Physical Laboratory- Science and Technology in Wartime, Teddington, Middlesex, England, UK, 1944
In the Ship Research Department at the National Physical Laboratory, Teddington, tests are being carried out on a propeller in a Lithgow tunnel. The propeller can be seen through the inspection window built into the upper arm of the tunnel. According to the original caption, "water is circulating at controlled velocity and pressure and the behaviour of the propeller is examined. Much of the work carried out with the Lithgow tunnel concerns problems of caviation in marine propellers".
