English: National Physical Laboratory- Science and Technology in Wartime, Teddington, Middlesex, England, UK, 1944 Two female scientists in the Optics Section of the Light Division at the National Physical Laboratory in Teddington conduct a parallelism test on binoculars, using apparatus designed at the NPL. According to the original caption, the equipment "enables very rapid readings to be taken to determine whether the two optical systems in a pair of binoculars are perfectly parallel". |
