Notes Nightgown (1970s) This collection was formerly in the possession of Ella, Hilda (b. 1907) and Bessie Fleming late of 16 Pelham Avenue, Pt Chevalier. Their parents were Scottish and went to live in South Africa before moving to NZ between 1910 and 1920 where they purchased an orchard at Poukawa, Hastings. When their father died, the sisters and their brother William, disliking their mother, went to live at Butte, Montana with their Aunt, Ann Fleming. There they decided to be hairdressers and trained and purchased all the necessary equipment which they never ended up using. (This has unfortunately been disposed of). The siblings returned to NZ about 1951 and purchased the house at Pelham Avenue.
