Description
English: Sousei Yamakawa, owner of the house, burns uchikabi, which is the paper spirit money during last day Obon at Yomitan village, Japan, Aug. 10, 2014. In Okinawa Obon, runs throughout July 13-15 on the old lunar calendar, which means this year it falls throughout Aug. 8-10. The three days Obon called Unke known as the welcoming day, Nakabi is dedicated to visiting relatives’ homes and Ukui is dedicated to sending the ancestral spirits back to the other world.
