English: One of a set of letters found in the former Cronk family home in Deseronto.

This was written by E. G. [Eugene George] Webb, postmaster for Elkland, Tioga County, Pennsylvania to Reuben M. Cronk, Deseronto's Chief of Police.

"...Dollars and you can hold him Sixty days to get a requisition from our governer and then you can take him back.
Please inform us at once of what course you think of taking as we do not want him around here loose any longer than is necessary.
We shall be glad to assist you if you decide to come for him.
The lady that he married has left and no doubt is the same one you speak of that is now stopping with her mother as she went away about that time.
Please proceede at once and greatly oblige.
He is still here and working at his trade and you had better catch him while you know where he is. I am positive he is the man you want.
