NATIONAL SAVINGS Message from Colonel Commandant Major-General K. M. Body, C.B., C.M.G., O.B.E. It is with great pleasure that I heard of the launching of the Royal Army Ordnance Corps National Savings Campaign and I hope that all ranks, Military, A.T.S and Civilian will give it their support. The reponse of the British public to the appeal for savings has been admirable, but there is the danger that with Victory in sight, people may think that the need for savings is no longer so important. It is essential in the interests of the nation and the individual that every effort should be made to raise the standard of savings so that the nation will be able to face with confidence the many problems which will confront it in the future. I shall watch with interest the progress of the Campaign and am confident that if everyone does their best we shall achieve a success which will be a credit to the Corps. K. M. Body Major-General. This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
