De Sint-Nicolaaskerk te Monnikendam, in de eerste helft derXVde eeuw voltooid, is mede eene drie-hallige kerk; de middenhal als diete Zwolle breed 9.70 M., de zijhallen 8.70 M., door kolommen van98 cM. diameter de spitsbogen dragend, gescheiden; op die bogen rustende bovenmuren met hun trekbalken, ondersteund door muurstijlen enkarbeels, en ter hoogte dier trekbalken beginnen de houten half rondgesloten gewelven, hoog in hun kruin 17.60 M., zie afb. N°. 216. Ook hier zijn de vrij smalle kolomvakken, in het vóór- of westelijkekerkgedeelte breed van as tot as gemiddeld 4.85 M. en in het achter- ofoostelijk gedeelte gemiddeld 6 M., ruim belicht door de groote zijramen.
