236 The French Exposition for Twenty Cents. (April, and setting diamonds are carried on ; and it is to this place that ladies appearto be attracted more than to any other, perhaps, in the grounds. By and by we come to a large mound, which has rooms hollowed out withinit; and here are aquaria in which curious fishes are kept, as well as an aqua-rium for frogs. On entering the mound we see some large glass grottos,the frames of which are very ingeniously contrived in imitation of roughrock-work. These are the aquaria, and in them swim a great variety of cu-rious and beautiful fishes, brought from countries both far and near. Butstill more interesting than these is the aquarium in which the frogs are kept.Before this numbers of young people may generally be seen, — and a goodmany older people too, — watching the gambols of the frogs, which, withtheir queer pranks, bear a very singular resemblance to human beings en-gaged in a bathing-frolic.
