Agroove in the upper stones of the substructure shows the original posi-tion of the lowest course. In the second course, as now existino;, all theblocks are of different heights. This channel undoubtedly overlapped the walls at the sides andthe architrave in front, the overlapping portion forming a simple cor-nice. Taking the measurements inside the channel as representing ac-curately the dimensions of the original walls, we will compare them withthose taken from the other pieces.
