English: At the conclusion of their Noncommissioned Officer Induction ceremony, newly promoted sergeants with 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, take a group photo with two senior enlisted leaders (center), Command Sgt. Maj. Federico E. Boyce, senior enlisted adviser, 4th MEB, 1st ID and Command Sgt. Maj. Jerry F. Faulk, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence Garrison senior enlisted adviser, Sept. 11, 2013. The Army NCO Induction ceremony symbolizes the step from junior enlisted to being a member of the Corps of Noncommissioned Officers, which is also known as "the backbone of the Army." Boyce said the ceremony was held on Patriots’ Day so the group of inductees could honor and remember those fellow noncommissioned officers who have given the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation.
