Frederick Rudesheim, the deputy commanding general (Support) for the 1st Cavalry Division, waits in the front seat of an AH-64D Apache attack helicopter piloted by Chief Warrant Officer 4 Frank Almeraz, the standardization instructor pilot for 1st "Attack" Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cav. Div, while the rotar blades come to a stop. Rudesheim visited the Attack troopers out in the field at a forward arming and refueling point during gunnery, July 12 at Fort Hood, Texas. Rudesheim would later fly out to a range and fire some of the weapons systems on the Apache. |
