English: U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. John Campigotto, the officer of the deck, takes a bearing with an alidade while navigating the amphibious assault ship USS Peleliu past the guided missle destroyer USS Shoup in San Diego March 11, 2014. The Peleliu was conducting sea trials after a 7-month phased maintenance availability to prepare for an upcoming deployment.
