English: U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Andres Flores-Perez, from the Texas Army National Guard Personnel Recovery Operations Training Team, left, explains land navigation to Guatemalan soldiers from the 6th Guatemalan Army Brigade, during a Subject Matter Expert Exchange in Coban, Guatemala, on Feb. 28, 2012. These soldiers must be able to navigate from a departure point to a last known location of an isolated person in order to support a search and rescue or personnel recovery mission. This SMEE is in support of Beyond the Horizon 2012, an annual humanitarian exercise, which will help the Guatemalan and U.S. Army enhance capabilities on personnel recovery, vehicle search, force protection, search and rescue and land navigation. |
