p. Manyhours thereafter I awakened suddenly. My brain was confused. The electriclight from the street was shining throughmy window. I sat up in bed and lookedaround. I began to recall the events ofthe day, one after the other. I remem-bered my previous sleepless night, Ilived over the torture I had endured be-cause of the news that I had received ofGrace, and suddenly I recalled theengagement I had made for that nightwith Ediths attorney and his two wit-nesses. I had arranged to meet them ateight oclock. I had forgotten all aboutit. He would think that I had no inten-tion of keeping my word, that I was try-ing to fool him. I finally realized thatnothing could be accomplished and onconsulting my watch found it was twooclock. I concluded to go to bed andtry to secure more sleep. I reallyneeded-it, as I knew not what emergencyI might have to meet the following day. (To be Continued.)

A life of this kind develops a girl into astrong, rugged woman. It rounds andmakes almost perfect in proportion, every part of her body. Such a womanis active, energetic, and naturally pos-sesses the instincts of her sex, developedto the highest degree of excellence. Shehas had but little to do with the frivoli-ties of our so-called civilization, and shegrows up with the superior principlesthat usually come with the wild, outdoorlife, providing she comes in contact witha high code of honor that is usually up-held by these
