Title
Pilgrim badge
Description
English: A complete lead possible pilgrim badge. Circular in shape measuring 26mm in diameter. The front face is decorated with a relief design with radiating grooves surrounding it. It is unclear what is being represented in the central design, or which way up it is supposed to be viewed. It consists of two oval indentations and two smaller circular ones with angular grooves running between these. The back face is flat with two parallel rectangular shaped projections from opposite edges, one of these is bent over onto the front face, the other appears to be incomplete. No parallel could be found for this possible pilgrim badge as it is cruder than most published examples. It is most likely to be medieval in date.
