Pioneer Concrete UK [ incorporated 1962] was a subsidiary of an Australian company, Pioneer Concrete Services, founded 1949 www.fundinguniverse.com/company-histories/pioneer-interna... After the takeover of Mixconcrete in 1983, Pioneer became third-largest readymix concrete producer in the United Kingdom. Hanson UK took over what was then known as Pioneer International in 2000 and subsequently combined with Castle Cement, a branch of Heidelberg but flogged off by Heidelberg in March 2015 to US private equity investor Lone Star Funds.
