Notes

Frommer Stop Model 12 semi-automatic pistol, circa 1915, WW1 Pistol used by Hungarian Army within the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Donor is probably 2-2590 2nd Corporal James Ernest Cairns, MM, NZ Engineers. James Cairns initially enlisted with the New Zealand Field Artillery, leaving New Zealand with the 9th Reinforcements on 8 January 1916. He is later recorded as a 2nd Corporal with the New Zealand Engineers, being awarded a Military Medal “For bravery in the field” in 1919.
