Description

Folio 249 , a page from the Circa Instans, seu de medicamentis simplicibus with the entry for "tomentine" (which is a variant spelling of the French "tourmentine" or "turpentine" in English.) The Book is written in double column 34-42 lines and with colour illustrations of different herbs and plants, although on other pages there are animals, insects, stones and human figures. Here we see a human figure appearing to be gathering the plant to put in his basket.
