Title
Post-Medieval Jetton : Nuremberg Rose and Orb Type
Description
English: A copper-alloy Post-Medieval Rose and Orb type Nuremburg jetton. The obverse and obverse legend are illegible. The reverse shows an Imperial orb with cross in a three arched tressure with three pairs of pellets outside the tressure. The reverse legend is quite worn and it has not been possible to determine what the reverse legend reads. It seems that this jetton has been bent almost in half at some point in the past, which has resulted in a crack which runs from the edge to the centre and two crease lines. This fold has been flattened out prior to having been brought in to be recorded onto the PAS database. This fold probably explains the difference in illegibility of the two sides, the reverse having been on the inside of the fold. As it has not been possible to determine the legends a broad date range has been suggested for this jetton of c.AD1500-1699.

Weight is 0.80g, diameter is 22.83mm, thickness is 0.28mm.
