Title |
Post-medieval furniture fitting (drawer-pull drop handle) |
||
Description |
English: A worn and corroded post-medieval furniture fitting: a cast and forged copper-alloy drop handle from a drawer pull. The object is sub-trapezoidal in shape, and broken at its thin end. The thick, curling end is bifurcated with lugs on each side. The main field below features a triangular moulding with overlapping diagonal incisions. An example of such a later Stuart drawer-pull can be found illustrated in Read (1995, 162; ref. 1086).
