English: Post Medieval copper alloy toy musket, cast, hollow oval barrel with three worn transverse lines and traces of three longitudinal lines of punched dots along upper three facets, touch-hole, rectangular guard, and four large ring-and-dots on both sides of stock, length 91mm. Shank of ramrod remains screwed into end of barrel, with projecting baluster-like head, length (head only) 11mm, diam.6mm. Cf. Treasure Hunting September 2004, 17, figs.11a and b for musket with ramrod and Egan Playthings from the Past (1996), back cover, top right for similar musket. 17th century. |
