rmoneys worth. I am very much pleased with the- squaredealings I had with him. E. J. L. Pennsylvania, July 20, 1909 I bought a setting of eggs from Mr. Kellerstrass. Ihatched 14 chicks from the setting. I have raised every oneof these chicks and they are strong anu healthy. They areperfect beauties and I can say that Mr. Kellerstrass has cer-tainly been square with me in his dealings. I have had avery successful year all around with my Crystal White Or-pingtons, raising 200 birds and sold about 100 worth ofeggs besides from ten pullets. P. J. H. Georgia, July 21, 1909. The above testimonies speak for themselves. Look through this journal and you will see more successful breedersadvertising KELLERSTRASS CRYSTAL WHITE ORPINGTONS than any other breed. Any time better birds arebred Kellerstrass Farm will breed them If you want to know more about them or the price of stock and eggs sendfor free catalog. Vol. XVII. ALLENTOWN, PA., FEBRUARY 1912 No. 2 Fertility—How to Produce It. The season of incubation is at hand. It is the earlychicks that make the fine show birds and the goodlayers. Every year we have planned to get thebroody hens and incubators at work in January andFebruary. Most, every year we have failed in ourplans. Lets make good this season. We cant getthe first hatch off too early. But some fancier willtell you that you cannot get fertile eggs so eaidy inthe season. I grant that it is no fools job to give thefowls such care and feed as will produce in the eggsthe germs that by incubation turn out into those beau-tiful little chicks. We have to have knowledge alongthe line of care and feeding. We acquire such knowl-edge by experience. After some years spent in en-deavoring to produce fertile eggs I have been ableduring the last few seasons to keep my fowls in suchcondition that on egg testing occasions disappoint-ment was not my lot. In this article I shall try torelate so
