r its production. The physicalpicture in advanced cases is as classical as that of cretinism. Theover-growth of hands, feet and lower face is unmistakable. Thelower jaw and teeth protrude anteriorly. After these bone defectsare once established no reduction is possible. The orthodontistshould immediately recognize such types of mal-occlusion as beingbeyond the realm of his field. Regardless of his efficiency his effortswill be in vain, as long as the over-growth of bones is in progress.(Figure 2.) Literature gives practically no information on acromegaly inchildren. In lower animals, horses, cows, hogs, etc., the effect on body growth by their complete removal is com-mon knowledge. In the human being some individuals suffer aretardation of sex development. The prevalence of such conditionsis not generally known, the reason for which is obvious. Onlya medical clinic for the study of endocrin-^ disorders will revealsuch secrets, so closely guarded by the individuals. Without discussing the many physical and temperamental de-ficiencies of definite hypo-gonad cases, you will be interested inwhat we believe has a new but direct bearing upon mal-occlusion.All cases presenting unmistakable
