During the year 1904 the Seventh Connecticut Volunteer Asso-ciation gave up the idea of building a monument at Hartford andjoined with the three veteran organizations already named for thepurpose of carrying out the plan of erecting a joint monument. A joint committee of the four organizations held meetings, andfinally at a meeting of the executive committees held at NewHaven, June 7, 1904, a corporation was formed under the statutelaws of Connecticut with articles of association as follows: Article 1. The name of said corporation shall be The First LightBattery and the Sixth, Seventh and Tenth Connecticut. Volunteers Monu-ment Association. Aet. 2. The purposes for which said corporation is formed are thefollowing, to wit: To receive appropriations made by the General Assembly of the Stateof Connecticut for the erection of memorial tablets or monuments by saidBattery and Regiments, or either of them, and to locate and erect such
