  • Significance: Erroneously known as the "Slave Market," this old structure, although frequently rehabilitated, probably dates from 1821 and very possibly earlier. It undoubtedly was originally a meat and produce market, there being a fish market nearby. It is now used for recreation in the town plaza which is maintained as a park.
