In giving this account of the Breaking of the Hindenburg Linealong the St. Quentin Canal, I wish to state, in the first instance, thatI have made it as accurate as possible from the information that isnow obtainable. It must be remembered that the War Department has not yet pub-lished the official records of the War, and it is almost impossible atthis time to secure the reports of officers engaged in the operationsdescribed.
