THE COLORADO STATE BUILDING. Like twin sisters of surpassing beauty stood the towers of the Colorado State Building,guiding the visitor to a building chaste and exceedingly pretty. The style of architecturewas Spanish Renaissance, occup^-ing a space 125 by 45 feet. The towers were provided withspiral stairways, and a journey to the top was well repaid by the beauty of ones surround-ings. The soft red colorings of the Spanish-tiled roof added a charm to the building. Theinterior finish was ornamented with native marble and onyx, which told in a slight degreeof the wealth of this great mining State. This was a glorious opportunity for Colorado tomake her debut among the older exhibitors, for she was admitted as a State in 1876, thecentennial year. In 1806 Maj, L. M. Pike headed an exploring expedition through Colorado,and the mountain bearing the name of Pikes Peak was named after him. Colorado, inaddition to her mines of gold and silver, contains some of the most beautiful naturalscene
