Description
English: Quilt one side of which is large piece of early 19th century relief-printed fabric with an all-over pattern of small rosette in red on a yellow background in a half-drop repeat. The opposite face is a piecing of three painted fabric fragments : 1) 18th century intaglio print in red with large scale pattern of peacocks in a tree, still life with musical instruments, a scarf in the branch of a tree; 2) 18th century intaglio print with landscape scenes including a procession; 3) 18th century relief print in red with a domestic scene of children dancing and playing instruments with adults in a garden. Pieces of yellow 2/2 twill fabric used on the piece side as part of the border.
