•js**?*^**; THEB Scottish Locomotive Trials Interesting locomotive trials took place on Friday of last week on the Highland Railway,between Blair-Atholl anil Dalwhinnie, with the y ieyy (); testingthe respective powers of the heavy engines of tin- North Britishand the Highland Companies. The locomotives concernedwere the North British engine No. 867 and the Highland Rail-way engine No. 146. Each weighs about a hundred tons, andyy.is attached to a train made up of eight bogie carriages, yyilhsaloon and brake van.
