m to the far side ofChestnut Hill, where it enters the Barren Hill Pike, a shortdistance north of St. Josephs Roman Catholic Seminary.From the river road a bridle path enters the valley and skirtsthe hillside to the bridge above Rittenhouse St. At this pointthe bridle path crosses the stream and runs high up the hillsthrough deep shade to the northern limits of the park. Beginning at the mouth of the creek for the first mile thepath winds about towering rocks and along the verge of severalsteep precipices; then the valley broadens out, and a finepicnic ground is reached. From here a steep ascent of abouta hundred feet leads to a pretty rustic summerhouse. Mom Rinker^s Rock. Taking the bridle path on the eastside of the stream for a short mile, we come to Mom RinkersRock. On the top of the rock is a statue of WilHam Penn, agift of the Hon.
