Notes Gramophone record of British Isles vs New Zealand, Highlights of the Four Tests (1959) Stan Dallas presents Winston McCarthy in "Highlights of the 4 Tests" versus The British Isles Commentary and Comments by Winston McCarthy,Cover Design by Neville Lodge, Produced by Stan Dallas, Recorded in Cooperation with the New Zealand Broadcasting Service Lists teams and results for each of the four tests "Foreword- It is probably true to say that few people in New Zealand have ever seen such speed in a backline as we saw in 1959 with the British Lions touring side. When all else is forgotten we will still remember the seemingly amazing running of Jackson, O'Reilly, Hewitt and the others. perhaps they did play rather strange football by N.Z. standards, but it was a pleasure to watch. Had they used their speed to the best advantage, they might have won the series. The played the style of football the public flock to see. Our commentator Winston McCarthy said when he saw the first match "There won't be a ground in New Zealand big enough for the people to see these boys." Goodness gracious me - how right he was."
