The longest (20,871) measures .75 from nostril, and 1.15 from gape; while in another the bill is .15 shorter. Bill short, conical, high at base, not notched at tip. Culmen mnch curvei*. Nostrils in anterior extremity of nasal groove; broadly open and oval, but with a narrow membrane above. Internal lateral septum apparently revolute, so aa to be perpendicular to the central septum, its exposed edge crossing the nasal aperture obliquely forwards. Legs very stout; hind toe and claw nearly as long as the middle, which are much shorter than tarsus. Wings about equal to the much graduated tail.
