The third exibited in his person the greatest development of human power which has been witnessed since the days of Julius Caesar, if not indeed since the beginnings of civilization. The drama of which he was the principal figure corresponded in its terrible aspects with the fiery activities of him who was the principal actor. Such was the so-called Age of Revolution.
