Roman Zoomorphic brooch
Description
English: Cast copper-alloy Zoomorphic plate brooch in the form of a bird. Flat, but with raised head. Integral circular loop at tail end. One wing incomplete. Turquoise enamel set within each wing with two circular recesses. The triangular tail has two triangular red enamel cells; in one of which survives a circular white enamel cell; the other is incomplete. Poorly defined eyes. Two pierced lugs to hold missing pin. Short catchplate. L: 34 W: 19
