English: A Roman, copper alloy horse and rider brooch, measuring 29.78mm in length, 19.06mm in width, and 6.25mm in depth. The brooch weighs 2.22 grams, and is missing much of the rider, as well as parts of the face, legs and tail of the horse.

The brooch depicts the profile of a horse and rider facing to the right. What remains of the rider's lower body contains two of the four cells evident on the brooch; one linear cell running diagonally down the rider's body, over a second small oval cell.

The more complete horse shows incised lines suggesting a mane, and a small circular indentation for an eye. The snout of the horse is missing, as are the lower parts of its two legs and tail. The two cells on the horse's body are a linear cell running horizontally along the length of the horse and ending in a hook on its hind leg, and an elongated oval cell on the horse's chest.

The reverse of the brooch is flat and displays the remains of the pinning mechanism, including an intact lug and catchplate. The pin itself however, is missing.
