Circumstances of discovery
Found with the aid of a metal detector on pasture land over a spread of approximately 20 feet, 13.11.11. Many iron fragments including nails were found at the same time but were considered to be unrelated to the coins. The coins were in mostly fragmentary condition and images were taken at the British Museum.
