Title
Roman phallic amulet
Description
English: A lead-alloy phallic amulet of Roman date.

The artefact has been cast in one piece. The widest point is at the base, which has a hollow underside. From here the width tapers into a circular-sectioned body which is poorly formed, particulary towards the base, where the sides are irregular in appearance. Approximately two thirds of the way up, there is a pair of rounded protrusions, one on each side, seemingly representing the testicles. The tip of the phallus is defined by a basal groove and tapers to a point. The approximate dimensions of this piece are 60mm long by 10mm wide at the base.
