Title
Roman steelyard weight
Description
English: A Roman lead steelyard weight with an iron attachment loop in its apex. The weight is incomplete but appears to have originally been conical in shape with a flat top where the loop attaches. It weighs 35.07gm and measures 26.32mm maximum width (15.51mm minimum width/thickness) and 34.34mm in height. The loop measures 20.31mm in height and 12.60mm in width. The lead has become white in colour and the iron loop has evidence of corrosion.
