Description
English: Two fragments of Roman (AD 70-240) decorated Samian ware (probably a Dragendorff 29 or 37), apparently from the same vessel. Both have a browny/ orange slip and the fabric is pale orange in colour. Both fragments are from the decorated, curving part of the bowl.

1) 52.91x38.82x9.68mm, 20.7g. Palm leaf to the left within a double-border circle, goat below. In the centre a ?standard between two vertical lines of conjoined pellets. To the right a horizontal line and unidentified above and below.

2) 27.88x39.25x8.19mm, 8.6g. Incomplete ovolo border decoration above (a decoration common to many forms of decorated Samian ware), figure below facing left. To the left of the figure is a vertical line of conjoined pellets and part of a double-border circle beyond.
