Title
Roman zoomorphic brooch
Description
English: Roman copper alloy zoomorphic brooch, 16.36 mm long, 8.57 mm wide, and 5.36 mm thick. The object is in a fair condition and weighs 1.06 grms. It is a plate brooch representing the back-end of a hare. The hare, pointing right, is missing its head, its ear, its fore leg and part of its back and is retaining part of its back-leg and part of its tail. The brooch is filled by two enamel cells; starting from the right, the first cell is empty, incomplete and trapezoidal in form, while the second one has a visible patch of blue enamel and is complete and comma shaped. On the flat reverse side, the semi circular lug is present.
