The woodthat had been nailed up under the car in BrewstersCentre was in long strips, and we hauled a coupleof the longest ones out double quick. It wasnt ex-actly my idea, what we did; it was all of ourideas, I guess. We planned it out while we werehustling. One of those long strips we stuck out of the win-dow and then held it up outside. One end of itwas inside the car, resting on the seat, and theother end pointed up as straight as we could holdit outside. It reached up past the roof. Two ofus held it that way, while two others did the samething with another one through the window justopposite. So you see those two long strips stuckup, one on either side of the roof. They didntstand up straight on account of sticking downthrough the windows, but they slanted away fromeach other up above. It took four of us to holdthem that way.
