Title
SOM-3F84E2: Mesolithic to early Neolithic microburin x 4 (ventral)
Description
English: Four flint microburins and possible microburins of Mesolithic to early Neolithic date.

1. Length: 35.78mm, Width: 14.23mm, Thickness: 5.33mm, Weight: 2.32g
Long tertiary flake. Evidence of platform preparation at the proximal end of the dorsal face. The microlith has been snapped from the left side leaving a notch with a long thin scar above. To the ventral face the bulb is diffuse, but the ripple lines are fairly strong. The flint is light brown in colour with a shiny patina speckled with creamy patches.

2. Length: 21.58mm, Width: 20.64mm, Thickness: 4.28mm, Weight: 2.11g
Broad tertiary flake. A notch has been made to the right side of the dorsal face creating a spur to the left at the proximal end. A sharp break at the end of this remains where the microlith was removed. This has also removed the bulb on the ventral face, but the remaining ripple lines are fairly strong.

3. Length: 18.27mm, Width: 13.35mm, Thickness: 5.66mm, Weight: 1.33g
Small tertiary flake. Possible microburin. The proximal end shows signs of platform preparation on the dorsal face. There are several further small flaking scars on the dorsal face. To the left of the dorsal face is a small notch and beyond this a sharp break, perhaps where a microlith was removed. The flint is grey in colour with milky speckles and a shiny patina.

4. Length: 22.08mm, Width: 13.09mm, Thickness: 7.35mm, Weight: 1.60g
Small sub-rectangular tertiary flake. To the left and right of the distal end of the dorsal face are two small notches, above these is a sharp break, presumably where a microlith has been removed. To the ventral face the bulb is fairly prominent and as are the ripple lines. The flint is grey in colour with lighter patches and stripes of orange patination on the surface.
