Description
English: Troops from 7 SCOTS are shown being recovered by a Polish ME 8 helicopter following a live firing exercise.

Scottish Territorial troops from 51st Highland, 7th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland (7 Scots) were training in Poland with Polish and Ukrainian soldiers during Exercise Cossack Steppe.
The exercise is a tripartite event conducted annually by the United Kingdom, Poland and Ukraine. In the light that the British Army was celebrating the centenary of the TA, it was decided that territorials should represent the UK in 2008. In addition to offering an excellent training opportunity, the exercise attracted a significant amount of senior military and diplomatic interest.
