Description
English: Seaman Jamaal Sherrill from Salem, N.J., stands by ready to guide another multi-million dollar Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) into the well deck of USS OAK HILL (LSD 51). Sherrill has been in the Navy for 16 months and is assigned to Deck Department aboard OAK HILL. When asked why he joined the Navy he answered, "I joined the Navy to build a foundation, because whatever I do after this, I will have a solid foundation for what's next in my life." Currently Sherrill is deployed in the Arabian Gulf on a regularly scheduled six-month deployment. (U.S. Navy photo by Chief Photographer's Mate Spike Call) (Released)
