ractive and of splendid quality. In general character this sort resemblesthe Golden Yellow Self Blanching fromwhich it originated, but the plant is morecompact, the stalks a little larger andthe upper portions, particularly of theheart stems, are a richer, deeper yel-low beautifully blended with pink. Thestalks are a very rich and wax-like yel-low. The plant is stout and vigorous andas self-blanching as any variety in culti-vation. The leaves are broad the outerones dark green, but becoming more yel-low toward the center until those of theheart are deep yellow. Though the ribsare prominent the large, thick stalksare practically stringless and wonder-fully crisp, tender and well flavored. We have carefully tested this sort andwe believe it to be one of the most valu-able kinds in cultivation both for thehome garden and those markets whichdemand vegetables of high quality. Nocelery gro^-er or market gardener shouldfaU to grow it extensively. Pkt. 5c;Oz. 2oc; 2 Oz. 40c; ^ Lb. 75c;Lb. $2.50

Golden YellowSelf Blanching Celery. M. FERRY & GOS DESCRIPTIVE CATALOGUE 27 CELERY-Continued MJWtio Pliim^ While we are fully aware thatVTlllLc riUIIlC this variety has great meritas an early market sort, being as early as anyand very attractive when tit for use, yet we donot think that it compares favorably with theGolden Yellow Self Blanching either in flavoror solidity, or that it will remain in conditionfor use as long after it is earthed up. Plantshght yellowish green with tips of leaves almostwhite. As they mature, the inner stems andleaves turn white and require to be earthed upbut a shoit time before they are in conditionfor use. Where a fine appearing celery at aminimum amount of labor, is the object this varietywill give entire satisfaction. An Improved WhitePlume with longer stems is being offered but carefulcomparison with our stock shows that it is not equalin quality or so desirable as that we offer.
