Title
Severus Alexander
Description
English: A denarius, possibly a contemporary copy, of Severus Alexander dating to the period AD 228 to 231 (Reece period 11). PERPETVITATI AVG reverse type. As Mint of Rome. As RIC IV, p. 86, no. 208. The coin appears to have a high base-metal content, hence its identification as a possible copy. However, its execution is good which casts doubt on its status as a forgery.
