The receipt by us of over a mil-lion dollars annually, on the one side, andthe rendering of a creditable service on theother, while our professional and businessstatus in the District is equally commenda-ble, and much more prolific in the bestowalof substantial and lasting benefit. Andon the domestic side we have much that ischeering, comprising a large representa-tion of wealth and intelligence, living inhomes indicating refinement and culture,and with a social contact the most desirable.
