The main part ofthe Tuolumne Valley is a beautiful spacious flowery lawnfour or five miles long, surrounded by magnificent snowymountains. Theproponents of the dam scheme bring forward a lot ofbad arguments to prove that the only righteous thingfor Hetch-Hetchy is its destruction. These argumentsare curiously like those of the devil devised for thedestruction of the first garden — so much of the verybest Eden fruit going to waste, so much of the bestTuolumne water. Very few of their statements areeven partl
