Silver Siliqua of Valentinian I
Description
English: A silver siliqua of Valentinian I, 364-375, possibly slightly clipped. Mint is Rome, 364-367, Reece period 19. Obverse shows Pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right. Obverse legend reads D N VALENTINI-ANVS P F AVG. Reverse shows inscribed wreath. Reverse legend is contained within the wreath and reads VOT/V/MVLT/X. Reverse fields and exergue read: / //RQ. Condition is fine, die axis is 6 o'clock, weight is 1.61g, diameter is 17.64mm. See RIC IX, p.118, no.10b varient and Hoxne p.137, no.198.
